We worked to channel their progressive approach to design and social responsibility into the site, combining ecommerce, a lifestyle blog, and a way to participate in their sustainability program. To connect with Ensembl’s core audience, we embraced their editorial point of view, combining relevant, helpful content while giving the products a stylized treatment that echoed the brand’s identity. We paired modern typography with oversized imagery, showcasing the minimal design and innovative features while emphasizing their inherent beauty.

We took an innovative approach to the ecommerce solution, pairing two of our favorite platforms and letting each play to its strengths. The website is built on Shopify and leverages its excellent operational capabilities, while the content management system is built within Wordpress, allowing us to deliver a robust set of tools that empower Ensembl to manage the website with ease.
